We are affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana).
Our tradition is one of many Christian reform movements in that grew up in America in the 1800s. Our movement, like many unrelated groups that took the same name, called itself “Church of God” because we firmly hold to the unity of Christ’s Body across social, economic, racial, national (you name it!) lines.
Our particular Church of God movement was a powerful witness against deep social fissures in America after the Civil War, especially racial divisions. But the good news of Jesus Christ compelled us to call diverse peoples to a new community where divisions cease, and walls are broken down. PEAK seeks to honor this heritage by welcoming people of every background.
