Children & Youth
At PEAK Children are valued for their presence and what they teach us about God’s kingdom.
On Sundays we invite children ages 0-2 to our supervised nursery. Parents typically drop their children off prior to the service. Parents are also welcome to keep their children with them in the service. Nursery time is 10:00 am to 12:15 am (10:00 am to 11:15 am during Advent and Christmas).
Before the sermon, children 3 years to 5th grade are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a prayer. Then they are dismissed for worship in more age-appropriate classes. Children are also welcome to remain with their parents.
Story Guild is a storytelling program for children age 3 to grade 5 that follows the service on Sundays. Children learn Bible stories in age-specific storytelling guilds, and together perform a story twice a year.
In the summer, for one week, our kids and a few adults meet for Vacation Bible School.
We value the full participation of youth in the life of the church.
Our youth are talented, capable, energetic people. We’re richer for having them around. We also think this time of life has unique challenges, and warrants special attention.
Our approach to youth ministry prioritizes integration into the whole church (because youth are as much a part of the congregation as any adult), and focused, coordinated mentorship (because these are tough years!).
The youth intern coordinates regular activities, teaching, and service opportunities for the youth.
We run background checks on all adults working with children or youth. Teachers and mentors are also required to participate in Stewards of Children training.
